AMTRAK Engineering Training System

The Engineering Training System is a reservoir of data and information which enables an organization to schedule, track, retain and report on all aspects of employee training.  It is separate from, yet integrated with, the organization’s employee master files. The system demonstrates to employees and prospective employees that their company is serious about training and employee safety, knowledge and growth.

Specific training requirements are associated with each employee upon hire, transfer or promotion.  Those requirements are associated with course/training requirements which are ever-changing.  This system keeps track of those changing requirements and reports on them.  All of the core information that is necessary to schedule, execute and report on a training situation is centrally maintained.

This includes formal definition, objectives, costs, material needs, qualified instructors, student assignment, suitable sites, prerequisites and so on.   The Engineering Training System:

Gives the training manager the flexibility of modifying courses and objectives without redundancy and confusion

Intercepts scheduling conflicts

Enforces course prerequisites

Updates basic required employee qualification lists

Assists the training coordinator with locating a suitable, qualified instructor and with selecting a suitable location
